Billionaire Lists Brisbane’s Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel

A landmark Brisbane hotel has come to market with price expectations well north of $100 million as interest in River City accommodation assets ramps up ahead of the 2032 Games.
Syrian‑born hotel investor Ghassan Aboud has listed Crystalbrook Vincent, the six‑level luxury lifestyle hotel at the city’s Howard Smith Wharves, through an expressions‑of‑interest campaign that is expected to attract strong institutional and offshore capital.
The 166‑room property, beneath the iconic Story Bridge on one of Brisbane’s most tightly held riverfront sites, was developed as part of the broader Howard Smith Wharves precinct and opened in 2019.
Aboud’s Crystalbrook Collection acquired the asset in 2021 for around $70 million, marking the group’s entry into the Queensland capital and making it one of Australia’s largest independent five‑star portfolios at the time.
The hotel features a bold, contemporary design with views of the Brisbane River and city skyline, a rooftop magnesium infinity pool, Italian‑inspired dining at Polpetta, a vibrant bar and 24‑hour fitness centre, and integrated meeting and event spaces.
Art plays a vital role throughout the property, which incorporates more than 500 prints and works associated with acclaimed Australian artist Vincent Fantauzzo.

Aboud, speaking when Crystalbrook Vincent was relaunched under its current brand in 2021, said the hotel embodied the group’s vision for “brave, bold and vibrant” hospitality and reflected his pride in leading Australia’s largest independent five‑star portfolio.
He said that hospitality was an area he had long wanted to invest in and that Crystalbrook’s focus on responsible luxury was central to the brand’s identity.
Industry sources say the current campaign, with price expectations around $115 million, reflects tightening hotel supply in Brisbane and surging demand ahead of the 2032 Olympics, testing investor appetite for high‑quality lifestyle assets in premier precincts.
